This morning, Israel began a 72 hour ceasefire and pulled all of our troops out of Gaza in pursuit of achieving Israel’s objective of restoring sustained quiet and security for the people of Israel. We want an end to this conflict perpetrated by Hamas, a genocidal U.S.-designated terror organization whose charter calls for the murder of Jews worldwide. We want an end to terrorism. We want an end to violence. Israelis and Palestinians deserve peace and security, free from terror and violence.

Hamas’ Grotesque Use of Human Shields
Journalists in Gaza today released footage of Hamas’ grotesque use of human shields, showcasing Hamas rocket launchers next to UN facilities and hotels. This footage serves as further proof to Hamas’ double war crime: hiding behind Palestinian civilians, mosques, hospitals and UNRWA schools while indiscriminately firing at Israeli civilians. Hamas’ war crimes and violations of basic morality should be widely condemned by all persons of conscience. The world should be outraged by Hamas' use of human shields in Gaza. Failing to condemn Hamas's systematic use of human shields and blaming Israel for the deaths that are caused by this grotesque human shields policy sends a message to Hamas and terror organizations everywhere that using civilians as human shields is an effective and internationally acceptable strategy.
